Profile: Randall Robinson (1941-2023)

Randall Robinson was an American lawyer, author and activist, noted as the founder of TransAfrica. He was known particularly for his impassioned opposition to apartheid, and for his advocacy on behalf of Haitian immigrants and Haitian president Jean-Bertrand Aristide. BATON ROUGE BUS BOYCOTT (1953)

The Baton Rouge (Louisiana) Bus Boycott in 1953 was the first large-scale boycott of a Southern segregated bus system. It inspired the Montgomery Bus Boycott that took place two years later.
